Christmas Time in Zamboanga City

Posted by jet MUSIC | Sunday, December 23, 2012 | Category: , , , , | 0 comments

This is my 8th time to celebrate Christmas in Zamboanga City. When I left Manila for Dipolog last 2003 (or something), all I can remember is that Christmas in Manila was a blast. Literally. When the night of Dec 24th comes, all you can hear are endless fireworks until Dec 25. After that, all that's left are trashes - trashes everywhere.

This is not how ZC celebrates Christmas. Lights are few and fireworks last for a short time. There are only few houses w/ Christmas Decoration. Perhaps, it's because of a wide range of religion in the land. But there's an exceptional place in the city where you can visit every Christmas time. It's the City Hall! It boasts lights and sounds to entertain you. The city government always decorate major landmarks here every Christmas season. This includes the City Hall, Paseo Del Mar, Plaza Pershing, etc.

I've captured some un-professional shots of they City Hall from my P&S and here they are:

My husband, Hope, Faith, Ellah, Ate Love w/ Royce, Mama Cris and Papa Deo

 The City Hall from afar.

Note: They look better for real so if you're here for Christmas, I suggest you visit the place. :)

my shot using Samsung P&S lols.
the place, still bare

Just want to share the place where we got married - Sinunuc Transfiguration Parish. It's a very lovely, small, church. Perfect for that intimate moment of your life. If you plan to get married you might like to do it here. The staff are very very very accommodating and kind. They also have the cheapest wedding fee in Zamboanga City, for only Php 3,000 with free choir, priest, readers and seminar. If you want to have them arrange the flowers, just add 1,000 pesos.

These are the sample pictures:

(shot by Sir Kiko De Leon, ZC event photographer)

ff shots by Mariefranz, my friend:
Fr. Jing (left) and Fr. Nevio (right; Resident priest)

the altar (sunset at the background)
the bride and groom is located on the upper right of the altar facing the crowd

this is sir kiko's idea, still waiting for the official photo though :)

Location: Strategically located on top of the hill by the sea. How romantic ^^,
